Know About Residential Water Heaters

Problems with Your Electric Hot Water Tank

The first thing to look for is to check for water leaks or standing in the vicinity of the water heater. If you see water over the flooring, do not touch it. Switch off all breakers in your house. Immediately contact an emergency plumbing contractor for leaking heater tanks in your local area.

If no evidence of leaks is evident, inspect your electrical circuit breakers and fuse box. If they are in good condition. The next thing to check will be the panel for control. If there is any water in the panel, open it and get it repaired as soon as possible.

In the event that your compartment has dried out, you can try hitting the reset button. If not, it's certain that you need to contact a repair. Most reset and breakers don't go off without a cause, so take this as an early indication that you could require service quickly.

Problems with your Gas Heater

Gas is typically an efficient and less costly method of heating water. However, problems with gas water heaters could be risky and complicated. If you do not have hot water, you should first check to see if gas is turned on.

If yes, the next thing to look at will be the pilot lights. Start by turning on the control for gas to set the heater's water source towards "pilot," then remove the plate made of metal and check at the pilot to see if it is illuminated.
